W139 opens its mouth and swallows you whole in Temper Tantrum Bonehouse, an exhibition initiated by Mette Sterre. This immersive group show explores the limitless potential of the body—turning W139 into a possessed, grotesque, more-than-human organism. Featuring works by:

The exhibition features new and existing works that similarly distort the body beyond limitations and familiarity—creating chimeric apparitions that defy categorization and offer counter-narratives against oppressive systems.

What unfolds is not a descent into horror, but a reckoning with the politics of fear—woven through the systems that marked specific bodies as monstrous. The exhibition pulses and panics, dares and disorients, asking us to renegotiate our relationships to power, to the system, and to our own corporeality.

Here’s some monotypes and decalcomania portraits I made while @studio459tomar a few weeks ago. There’s some shots with HerNie guts around the studio too.

Research includes; Paul Klee hand puppets made for his son, @royalacademyarts anatomy collection & Andreas Vesalius 16th century anatomist drawings, Mine and my Nan’s ongoing animal ornament collection, Surrealist painting and making techniques (exquisite corpse, decalcomania), Mariam Cahn’s haunting figures, caves.

An avid cuddler who would pull out her yoga moves in the middle of the dance floor, the charity shop queen, known as ‘the colourful lady’ in Stevenage whose style and flirting skills were unmatched - it was a privilege to have known you and to love and been loved by you. It’s heartbreaking to imagine not holding you again or hearing your giggle. The sweetness and the mischief, that will live through so many. Our Nanny. Our refuge. xxx sweet dreams - until we meet again - running down sand dunes together xxx

I’ve contributed a chapter to the new book ‘How to Set Up an Art School’ published by The Other MA (TOMA) @theotherma .

My chapter, titled The Bolster Playground, is divided into three sections: Supports, Connectors, and Floppy Objects.

In the first section, I reflect on my first six months in London as a 20-year-old, sharing experiences from my time with the DA! collective—an activist group known for squatting mansions in Mayfair—as well as the occupation of Byam Shaw School of Art, where we lived in the building for nine days in protest against funding cuts and wider shifts in higher education.

The second section documents The Alternative Art School Weekender, an event I curated in collaboration with various alternative art schools and self-organising groups across the UK in 2019 hosted by Ugly Duck @weareuglyduck

The final section is a practical guide to The Bolster Playground, a conceptual, collaborative installation made up of supports, connectors and floppy objects.

Toner was a large-scale photocopy collage displaying fragments of the contributing art schools archive including print outs of budgets, emails, writing, photocopies of artworks, posters and printer colour tests. Created collaboratively as part of Alternative art school weekender at Ugly Duck, Bermondsey in March 2019.

We discuss putting art making on hold to earn a living, establishing secure work, and Arts Council England’s class-driven board and funding platforms. The Rio Cinema founder presents a night of art films, live music and queer performance, to celebrate Spring’s renewing desires and disasters, get some tips from the ecosex manifesto, and listen in the deep of our awakening bodies.
Selected films will show the connection between queer plants and queer people, pushing the boundaries of sexuality and love to incorporate the natural world.

Film artists: Zheng Bo (Pteridophilia), Valentin Ranger, Lolly Adams, Autojektor, Edd Carr, Elisabetta Antonucci and more artists to come.

PROGRAMME:

7-8 PM PRE-SHOW (Foyer, Circle, Ludski Bar)
Special performance by Andrew Woodyatt (Pink Palace), dedicated to the cult documentary GREY GARDENS, and sound performance by Rosa (Dream Emulator). Inspired by the practices of worm grunting, a folk method for drawing worms out from the soil to be captured, we will call into the soil using bass frequencies, both tilling and calling the soil forth. Through concrete and lead piping, a 45hz song will be heard by the depths.

8-11 PM SHOW (Screen1)

Lolly Adams, ‘Pick Me’, 2024, 3D animation, 1 minute 52 seconds (looped).

Working with: Animator: Markus Fielder @markusfielder, sound and music: Dominic Kennedy and vocals: Bianca Stephens @tairayne

Based on heartache songs by The Supremes, ‘Pick Me’ is sung by three sphincter-esq flowers who sing to the sunlight that shines through the drain above.

This video is from the film ‘Grandad’s Tooth’.
I received DYCP funding from @aceagrams in 2022 to transform my performance practice with Miss HerNia @misshernia into a 3D animation. This film brings together the Miss HerNia inception story and follows a lost tooth that travels through a magical and monstrous subterranean world, where it becomes the missing link in a mutant fat-creature’s plan to swallow and digest all of humanity.

RA Schools Class of 2026 will be showing in ‘Insufferably Sweet’ at Sadie Coles HQ Shop.

Insuﬀerably Sweet oﬀers various extractions from eleven artists’ from the class of 2026, who have now completed their first year at the RA Schools. The show reflects a condensing of each artists’ process, rooted in the specificity of communal working and charged with emotional and imaginative resonance between studio and collective making.

Only a short walk away from their studios, the room adopts many guises, transposing between an index of style, a site of display, a melting pot for fusing collaboration, and even a vessel for retreat from explorative studio frustrations

Here the seams are split and continue to widen, offering an escape through the back door.
