Lolly Adams

Lolly Adams (b. 1989) is a multidisciplinary artist based in London. Adams’ practice is centred on live art and performance, but it also comprises animation, collage, costume design, sculpture, and video.
By incorporating cheap found materials, such as animal fat or waste plastics, Adams’ work unpacks themes of excess, social currency, and class. Swaying between trauma and fantasy, her pieces are visual spectacles that reference psychoanalytical theorems and reflect a hunger for overstimulation and a subversion of spectacle and entertainment. The artist often employs alter egos, including Miss HerNia, Show Pony and The Hoarder, to rouse feelings of disquiet and unsettlement.
Adams’ work has been presented at CAPc Bordeaux, The Shop: Sadie Coles HQ, The Royal Academy, The Bomb Factory, Bergen Fringe Festival and the Victoria & Albert Museum, among others. She holds a BA from the Byam Shaw School of Art, Central Saint Martins, and is currently pursuing a postgraduate degree at The Royal Academy Schools, in London. Adams has also co-organised and curated The Other MA (TOMA), an alternative, artist-run educational platform and nomadic exhibition space based in Southend-on-Sea.
